Ex minister dead in Meghalaya

Former Meghalaya minister Manirul Sarkar is dead. Sarkar, who represented Phulbari constituency twice in the legislative constituency died of heart ailment in the afternoon in Guwahati.

Sarkar came to Guwahati a couple of days back and lodged at the Meghalaya House. Suddenly, he complained heart ailment again and was rushed to the Namcare Hospital where he breathed his last.

The two time MLA was planning to contest the upcoming assembly polls with NPP ticket. Many parties, organizations and individuals have deeply condoled his death and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members. He would be laid to rest on Monday.

The NPP is deeply saddened by the sudden demise of Manirul Islam Sarkar, former Minister Govt. of Meghalaya and senior leader of our Party who passed away in Guwahati on Sunday.

Lt Manirul Islam Sarkar was an invaluable part of the NPP family who made so many contributions to the growth of the Party. It is a great and irreparable loss for the Party, as we have lost not just a Great Leader but also a friend and mentor.
