Devtamura (Chabimura)

Devtamura or Debtamura is a hill range in South Tripura.It is a well known archaeological site of rock sculptures and stone images that were sculpted to mark the revival of Brahminism  during the 15-16 centuries and the beginning of Buddhism. Devtamura is situated at an altitude of 229 metres above sea level between Udaipur and Amarpur. The Damburu water falls commences at the top of Devtamura continuing through a series of terraces. It is a beautiful water body that holds great historic significance and divine serenity. Devtamura contains huge carved images of Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, Lord Kartika and Goddess Durga. These images date back to 15-16centuries.
 
The best time to visit this place is during the winters as the climate is very soothing. The place is also known as Chabimura, situated in the banks of Gomti river, the place holds a very religious depth. The  surrounding vegetation is lush green and it seems as if the place is covered with a green carpet. The external image of the place is eye-catching. The hotels nearby provides good accommodation to the visitors.
 
Laiden amongst a huge water body, Devtamura adds an extra charm to the viewers. The place must be visited once to enjoy the artistic works and the natural gift showers.
Ways to Reach: From Udaipur firstly one has to reach Rangamati by bus and thereafter can avail the facility of boat to arrive at Devtamura. Since Devtamura is situated in the middle of an waterbody therefore there is no provision reaching directly from airways or railways.
