SHILLONG: Tura Lok Sabha MP Conrad K. Sangma said if voted to power in the upcoming polls. the National People’s Party (NPP) envisage to build a new Meghalaya.
Sangma, who is also NPP president said it as he along with James K. Sangma were addressing a recent tally at Bhoirymbong in Ri-Bhoi.
“I am sad to see that the area under Ri-Bhoi has not received the kind of development that the district deserves. The area which shares close proximity to Assam and the capital city of Guwahati could have taken the opportunity to usher development but the government has failed to tap its potential”, Conrad alleged.
Sangma urged the people of the area to work hard together with the party and lay the foundation of new Ri-Bhoi with renewed energy and vigor beginning from 2018 to build a new Meghalaya.
“2018 election is very crucial for NPP and the state of Meghalaya because NPP wants to write a new vision for the people of the state and the future generation, which promises opportunities for economic growth and development of the region”, he said.
“If there is any atrocity on the Christians in any parts of the country, it is the Tura Lok Sabha MP and NPP that raises its voice and concern in the Parliament. We will never compromise on our ideology and belief”, he said.
James said, “If NPP was voted to power, they would come up with policies that would focus on different strata of the society to fulfill the dreams and vision laid down in the policies for development and growth of the state”.
