Conrad, colleagues take oath in Shillong

SHILLONG: Allaying all uncertainties Conrad Sangma took oath as Meghalaya chief minister in the NPP-led coalition government on Tuesday.

Governor Ganga Prasad administered the NPP president along with his council of ministers the oath of office and secrecy at a function in the Raj Bhawan in Shillong at 10 in the morning.Others who took the oath are Prestone Tynsong, James P.K.Sangma,  A.L.Hek, Sniawbhalang Dhar, Comingone Ymbon, Metbah Lyngdoh, Lahkmen Rymbui and Kyrmen Shylla. The portfolios are expected to be announced in a day or two.

Union home minister Rajnath Singh, BJP president Amit Shah, outgoing chief minister Mukul Sangma, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, his Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur counterparts Pema Khandu and Biren Singh were prominent among those who attended the ceremony.
