SHILLONG: Hardly a week after taking oath, the NPP-led Meghalaya government is facing floor test when the legislative assembly holds its special session holds on Monday.
Protem Speaker Timothy Dalbot Shira is presiding over the day long session where Conrad Sangma and his government are seeking trust vote.
Apart from this, the special session is set to elect Donkuper Roy as the Speaker of the tenth Meghalaya Assembly. But the Opposition Congress is fielding Winnerson D. Sangma in the race. Conrad took oath as chief minister on March 6 and Governor Ganga Prasad asked him to face the floor test by Monday. Sangma leads the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance coalition comprising NPP, UDP, BJP, NCP and independent.
