4 killed as tourist vehicle rams into truck

SHILLONG: Four people dead and six others sustained grave injury when the tourist vehicle on which they were travelling to Shillong rammed into a truck on the GS Road in Ri Bhoi district on Monday.

The incident took place at around 8.30 in the morning when they tourists’ vehicle bound for Shillong reached Mawpun village at the by pass.

The driver is believed to have lost his control over the bus as it rammed into the truck which was coming from the opposite direction.

Four our of ten persons died on the spot while a few of the six survivors are battling for life at the hospital.

This is the second one tragic mishap during the last 24 hours in the state.

A police constable died while another sustained grave injury when Meghalay’s health minister’s son knowcked down a two wheeler in the capital town on Sunday.
